Itinerary - Ayahuasca Ceremony

The transfer from Cusco takes place in the morning to our Retreat Temple, located in the Southern Sacred Valley. After check-in and room assignments, we begin with coca leaf readings and an energy cleansing ceremony.

This is followed by the first Ayahuasca or Wachuma ceremony, led by the Master Shaman, who guides the process through traditional prayers and rituals in harmony with nature. Afterward, participants enjoy a light dinner specially prepared for the retreat.

The day begins with a time for integration, during which participants can share their experiences and receive guidance on the messages and visions they received during the ceremony.

Next, the second Ayahuasca or Wachuma ceremony takes place, followed by the offering to Pachamama and the blossoming bath to conclude the spiritual process.

Finally, we return to the city of Cusco at approximately 6:00 p.m. Participants who wish to do so may arrange for an additional night’s lodging at the Retreat Temple.

What does our Ayahuasca ceremony include?

AYAHUASCA CEREMONY, INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

There are 7 complete techniques, Ayahuasca and Wachuma (San Pedro), plus the 5 ancient Inca ceremonies. We have organized the following activities within your 3-day retreat, according to our Inca culture:

  • Volcanic Medicinal Water: Before the main ceremony, a physical cleansing is performed using volcanic medicinal water, rich in natural minerals. This process aids in the body’s detoxification and prepares it to receive the ancestral medicine. It is recommended to drink it one day before the retreat or, if time is limited, on the same day.
  • Reading of Coca Leaves: The traditional coca leaf reading provides spiritual guidance and a personal energetic diagnosis. This practice helps participants understand important aspects of their individual journey and offers guidance for the work that will take place during the retreat.
  • Cleansing of Negative Energies: Before the ceremony, an energetic cleansing is performed to release negative energies and harmonize the energy field. This ritual aims to prepare the body, mind, and spirit to experience the ceremony with greater balance and openness.
  • The Ayahuasca Ceremony: Ayahuasca is an ancient medicine used to facilitate processes of introspection, personal growth, and spiritual healing. Many people experience a deep connection with themselves, allowing them to understand their emotions, strengthen their awareness, and promote positive changes in their lives.
  • Wachuma (San Pedro) Ceremony: Wachuma, also known as San Pedro, is a sacred plant in Andean tradition associated with the connection between nature and human beings. Its energy is often perceived as gentler than that of Ayahuasca and fosters reflection, inner peace, and emotional balance.
  • Offering to the Pachamama (Mother Earth): This ritual of gratitude honors Mother Earth for life, health, abundance, and the teachings received during the retreat. Through a traditional offering, participants seek to strengthen their connection with nature and harmonize their personal energies.
  • Flowering Bath: As a closing ceremony, the blossoming bath symbolizes spiritual renewal and energetic protection. It is performed with flowers and aromatic plants to attract well-being, balance, and new positive energies.

Ayahuasca Retreat – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is Ayahuasca?

Ayahuasca is a traditional Amazonian plant medicine used for centuries by indigenous cultures in Peru and other parts of South America. It is typically prepared from the Banisteriopsis caapi vine and other plants, and is known for its deep spiritual, emotional, and psychological effects.

During a ceremony, you will be guided by an experienced shaman in a safe and controlled environment. The experience may include:

  • Deep introspection
  • Emotional release
  • Visual or visionary states
  • Physical sensations such as nausea (considered part of the cleansing process)

Each journey is unique and can vary from person to person.

Ayahuasca can be safe when taken in a properly guided setting with trained facilitators. However, it is not suitable for everyone. People with certain medical or psychological conditions should not participate.

A pre-retreat screening process is essential to ensure your safety.

You should avoid Ayahuasca if you:

  • Are taking antidepressants (SSRIs)
  • Have a history of severe mental health disorders (such as schizophrenia)
  • Have serious heart conditions
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

Always consult with a professional before attending a retreat.

Yes. Ayahuasca is legal in Peru and recognized as part of the country’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

An open mind and intention

Many participants report positive effects on emotional healing, trauma, and personal growth. However, Ayahuasca is not a substitute for medical treatment or therapy.
